Motherwort is a mint family plant with a bitter bite and an affinity for the heart and cardiovascular system. In fact, Motherwort's Latin name, Leonaurus cardiaca, literally means Lion Heart. True to it's name, motherwort can soothe a racing heart and bring courage and calm to a worrying mind. It is also used as a digestive bitter and an emmenagogue.
