JUNE Herb of the Month:
Hawthorn
June's Herb of the Month is Hawthorn! Hawthorn trees (Cataegus sp) are members of the rose family (Rosaceae) along with other familiar and food-like plants such as apples, pears, raspberries, almonds, and you guessed it, roses. They are a nourishing and delicious family of plants that have supported human beings for ages.
The leaf, flower, and fruit (aka the "haw") are all used to support health, specifically the human cardiovascular and nervous systems. Hawthorn aids both the physical and emotional heart, and is an incredible tonic for the connective tissues of the body.
All month you can find dried organic hawthorn (leaf with flower and berries) 50% off and tincture 25% off. If you're interested in learning more about Hawthorn and how to work with this plant to support health, join Susan Staley on Wednesday June 16th from 6-7pm for a workshop on Zoom.
