How the Process Works
Deep Listening
Our clients feel that they are heard in ways they haven't felt from other practitioners. We take the time to really understand your story. Traditional Assessment
We invite clients to share lab results and information from other providers, but we also use traditional herbalist methods to understand your constitution and your unique pattern of health. This assessment includes traditional pulse and tongue readings. Personalized Plan
We collaborate with you to develop a plan for digestive health that includes diet recommendations unique for you, lifestyle suggestions and herbal remedies. |
Keys to Digestive Health
Food and drink
Our unique approach includes not just lists of foods and drinks. We help you to identify food and drink that bring you joy, and how they can be prepared in a way to maximize nutrition with a method that works for you.
How we eat
So many of us our living stressful lifestyles, and we help you to re-discover how to slow down, savor and enjoy the food that is nourishing your well-being.
Mind and emotions
The mind-gut connection is critical. We help people to address both at once, by soothing the nerves and the gut together. One of the beautiful things about herbs is how so many herbs have cross-over effects such as this.
The micro-biome
Our gut bacteria form a whole, rich and thriving ecosystem that is a key part in digestion as well as immunity. We help clients to re-balance their micro-biomes to a more natural state by incorporating pro-biotic foods or supplements, as well as herbs that promote good microbial balance.
The lining of the gut
For various reasons, such as chronic inflammation, some people experience things such as "leaky gut" that means the gut lining is not functioning optimally and this may impact not only digestive health but other body systems. We provide herbs along with diet recommendations to help repair and heal the gut at its deepest level.

About Our Collaborative Herbal Practice
The community herbal clinic at Railyard is a collaborative practice of trained herbalists – specialists in the medicine of plants and mushrooms. Though you will work one-on-one with your herbalist, we collaborate on cases regularly (maintaining anonymity and confidentiality of our clients). This means that, regardless of your herbalist, the collective experience of our whole team is brought to bear on your case. This occurs both during our regular clinical round-table meetings, and on an as-needed basis whenever a member of our team needs specific support.
