This intensive class will cover the basics of field wound management, treatment of burns, care for sprains and fractures, protocols for evacuation, and other important techniques for low-resource settings. We will discuss herbs, honey, and basic supplies - and how to gather, prepare, and apply them. While this is not an emergency medicine course, it will provide the foundations for safe and effective care when far from cell phones, ambulances, and hospitals.

Guido Masé RH(AHG) is a clinician and educator in the Western herbal tradition. He spent his childhood in Italy and has been living in Vermont since 1996. His practice interweaves clinical experience, mythology, and science.  He is chief herbalist at Urban Moonshine Natural Products, clinician at the Burlington Herb Clinic, faculty member and clinical supervisor at the Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism, teacher in herbal medicine at the University of Vermont, and author of The Wild Medicine Solution and DIY Bitters. In clinical practice, he focuses on mental and spiritual health and works with conventional practitioners to support a range of chronic conditions, including different types of cancer and autoimmune disease. An avid runner, Guido can also provide support for exercise performance and sport-related injuries.
