What is the lymphatic system and why should we care? The lymphatic system is an often overlooked and misunderstood body system but plays a huge role in our bodies daily functions including detoxification, immune system, hormone health, and general life force. It is so important that if this system stopped working we would die in less than 48 hours. Join Caroline P. Boone LMT & CMLDT of Wood Pigeon Wellness and Jessica Churchill of Railyard Apothecary for a morning learning about the lymphatic system, what it's job is in the body and how we can assist in keeping it flowing in the body.
Caroline has been a licensed massage therapist and certified lymphatic drainage therapist for over 10 years. She has a busy practice in Burlington, VT where she treats clients weekly, specializing in post-op and pre-op manual lymphatic drainage and detox support. She also has developed a botanical line of products designed to support your lymphatic system from the inside out.
Jessica Churchill believes co-creating with the magic of plant kin builds a better world for all beings. As a folk herbalist she focuses on building reciprocal relationships with the plants, not just utilizing them as commodities. Practically speaking this looks like not only ingesting herbs but also working to slow down to a sustainable pace and spending time in the garden, meadow or forest. While understanding physiological workings of herbs, Jessica’s approach is energetic and spiritual in nature with a goal of building rest and resilience practices in the face of the challenges of living in modern times. Bodies are not intended to move at the pace of capitalism and Jessica works with clients to support the body and create ease and balance in their lives.
