This 4-hour intensive class is a chance to deep dive into supporting the digestive system utilizing traditional herbal wisdom and specific plant remedies.
This class is for those that are looking to support themselves and already have a beginner level understanding of herbs, as well as those who are looking to support others.
Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of digestive health, as well as a set of specific tools that can be utilized when needed.
We'll discuss:
Nick is a clinical herbalist and one of four co-owners of Railyard Apothecary. His training included a three-year clinical training program at the Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism where he graduated in 2016. He's been working at Railyard Apothecary since then.

- General principles from traditional herbalism
- For example, how to choose foods according to the seasons and your individual temperament that are nourishing for your body and digestion
- The "energetic" understanding of imbalances in the gut
- For example knowing what "heat", "cold", "dampness" and "dryness" look like in the gut and how this insight can help in choosing what herbs can be of support
- Herbal "actions" to support gut health
- For example: bitter, carminative and demulcent. These terms help us understand how herbs within whole categories can be used interchangeably for digestive health
- Support with specific ailments
- Including gas and bloating, constipation, diarrhea, indigestion and heartburn
- Key herbs for gut health
- Learn more in-depth about a few specific herbs that can support digestive health
