Managing Chronic Joint Pain with Herbs | Wednesday, 10/16/24 from 6-7pm | In Person at RYA | $20
with staff herbalist Nick Cavanaugh
This is a class for people who experience joint pain and who are looking for natural ways to relieve pain.
Joint pain is a common problem that has many causes, both inflammatory and non-inflammatory.
In traditional herbal medicine, the joints are seen as being vulnerable due to their lack of vascularization. Regardless of the cause of joint pain or injury, remedies are used based on qualities of the symptoms, such as whether symptoms respond to hot or cold applications.
The herbs can help in a number of ways, including by supporting natural detoxification pathways of the body, promoting circulation, nourishing the joints, reducing inflammation and reducing the perception of pain.
Both topical applications and internal remedies will be discussed.
Please note that this class is not intended to be a substitute for medical treatment but as a way to support the relief of ocassional minor aches and pains.
