Herbs have always been and are still a valid option in fertility management. Last December the Journal of the American Herbalists Guild published an article with first of its kind research reporting on the efficacy and safety of herbal abortion. Two of the authors will be facilitating a conversation that aims to demystify misconceptions and accurately inform herbalists on the potential and limitations of herbal abortion in clinical practice. We will gather together to look at common preconceived notions alongside this unique data set where we share our analysis on the seven case studies of successful herbal abortions presented in the article.

Replay will be available for registrants.

Note: This space is intended for folks who have experience and knowledge of herbs and/or fertility autonomy, including but not limited to community and clinical herbalists, midwives, doulas, fertility awareness educators, and abortion providers. This is a pro-abortion / pro-choice space and not a space for debate around abortion access or ethics.

Teacher Bios:
Daena (she/they) is a queer, white herbalist and abortion doula and the creator behind Holistic Abortions. After decades as a social justice advocate, holistic health advisor and herbalist, Daena combined their clinical and collective expertise to aid a new way of seeing, talking about and experiencing abortions.
Ember Peters (they/she) is a clinical herbalist and founder of Wild Current Herbalism and the Maritime School of Holistic Herbalism. Ember's clinical practice currently focuses on herbal care for transgender folks, endocrine and menstrual imbalances, fertility autonomy, and general support through chronic illness. Ember is a gender non-conforming settler of Ashkenazi Jewish and Greek ancestry.
Ember and Daena recognize community based holistic health as a tangible step towards collective liberation and resilience. We are interested in challenging and dismantling the impacts of white supremacy, colonialism and capitalism on our relationships with each other, our bodies and with the land.
