Meet at Hallow Herb Farm in Burlington, VT (directions shared upon registration)
This class will focus on the growing techniques specific to medicinal herb varieties. We will discuss the planting methods, soil conditions, co-planting relationships of different plants, cultivation, seed saving, drying, and harvesting techniques involved in growing medicinal herbs. We will focus on a few specific plants such as tulsi, dandelion and elecampane, as well as overviewing the many other varieties of herbs on the farm. We will also discuss concepts of Natural Farming as well as energetic connections to medicinal plants.
Hallow Herb Farm is a 3 acre medicinal herb farm located at the Intervale in Burlington. Started in 2014 by Jeffrey Philie, the farm is home to over 50 varieties of medicinal herbs ranging from mountain mint to echinacea. These herbs have been utilized by herbal manufacturers such as Urban Moonshine and Wise Woman, apothecaries like Railyard Apothecary, as well as breweries like Zero Gravity and Four Quarters.
