Thursday, June 22 and 29, 6-8:30 pm
Learn how to preserve and prepare plants in your kitchen and acquire the skills to build your own herbal medicine chest! Over the course of three classes, we will cover the basics of using water, oil, vinegar and alcohol to create herbal preparations suited to your needs using familiar ingredients and herbs. Come to one class, or both for a discount!
6-8:30 pm for two consecutive Thursdays. $30 each includes materials fee, pay for both before the series begins for $50.
Class 1: 6/22, Water and Oil
This class will focus on infusions, decoctions, steams, and compresses and the herbs best suited for each as well as infused oils, salves, and lotions.
Class 2: 6/29, Vinegar and Alcohol
This class will focus on making tinctures using a variety of solvents.
Emma Merritt is a Railyard staff member and clinical herbalist with the Burlington Herb Clinic.
