A paradox of our time is our ability to be connected to people and events all over the world, yet many of us feel disconnected from ourselves and our natural environment. Consuming plants as food and medicine is an excellent way to deepen your relationship to place while nourishing yourself and preventing disease.  Plant medicine also connects us to ourselves and each other in many ways.

At this workshop, we will explore this concept through sharing our experiences and sampling local food and medicine.  Together we will consider the potential for deepening the local food movement and addressing this current epidemic of loneliness and disconnection by incorporating nature-based local medicine as part of a resilient food system.

Katherine teaches and practices as a clinically-trained community herbalist in Burlington, VT.
