Join Joanna Vinton for a discussion of the importance of healing and restoring the blood after birth.
We will go into topics of placentaphagy (eating the placenta), cultural blood taboos, herbs to help restore iron levels, and a comprehensive diet recommendation for the restoration of the blood system after birth. We will make some medicine to take home. This class is appropriate for anyone who is pregnant or interested in supporting women and pregnant people during their birthing years.
Joanna is a midwifery student training with Gentle Landing Midwifery. Herbal lore and wisdom have been guiding principles in her work and life over the past many years, and she has found certain herbal preparations to be extremely helpful during her clients' birthing experiences. You can see more about her philosophy of birth here: Gentle Landing Midwifery (http://www.gentlelanding.com/women-who-help-me.html)
Cost: $25, $30 day-of
Price of class includes medicine making supplies. Please bring an empty small jar to bring home an herbal blood tonic.
