Join Julie Mitchell for an informative lecture on Lyme disease and how to prevent it.
Lyme disease is a multi-system, multi-stage systemic infection caused by the spirochete Borrelia burgdorferi, often transmitted via tick bite. The disease represents a burgeoning public health threat throughout the world and is considered the fastest growing vector-borne disease or zoonosis. Although evidence of infection is found throughout the world, this presentation will center on Vermont. Discussion will focus on and clarify prevention of tick bites; actions to take if bitten along with supportive herbal treatment specifically for acute infection and resources.
Presented by Julie Mitchell. Julie holds a MSc degree in Herbal Medicine from the University of Wales and is a professional member of the American Herbalists Guild. She continues her 14 years of clinical practice as a participating member at the Burlington Herb Clinic along with a practice in Addison County.
$5-20 by donation.
