This interactive workshop will teach you reflexology self care techniques focused on reducing stress and anxiety, and promoting relaxation and overall homeostasis of the nervous system. The class will cover basic reflexology points on the feet, hands and ears for anxiety, irritability, sleep issues, stress-related headaches, and more. You will leave the class with tools to add to your other strategies for managing stress and anxiety.
Reflexology is a profoundly relaxing, unique, touch technique that targets specific points on the feet, hands, and ears to promote wellness, relieve pain, and release tension. The reflex points are based on maps of the entire body that are superimposed on the feet, hands, and ears. For example, applying pressure to a point on the foot that corresponds to the neck would theoretically help release tension in the neck.
While the exact mechanisms that result in enhanced wellness from reflexology are unknown, the current, leading theory is that reflexology works with the nervous system. By stimulating nerve endings on the feet, hands, and ears, reflexology assists the body in achieving and maintaining a more balanced and healthy state of being.
No prior knowledge of reflexology or anatomy is required.
