In these challenging times, healing plants are calling for us to find creative and meaningful ways to connect these herbs with people who are in need. Explore community-centered models developed in response to Orlando Pulse, Standing Rock, Hurricanes Harvey & Irma, and other national traumas, and learn how to apply these tools to your own community needs, big or small. We will discuss how herbalists can care for the soul of their community through simple and profound actions that bring the medicine of the people to the people in times of need. We will discuss a variety of botanical modalities and complementary strategies to address this oft overlooked area of healthcare. Our discussion will include practical self care strategies for caregivers, first responders, and health professionals.
Presentation will be at 7 pm at Railyard Apothecary. We invite a suggested donation of $20 to support, and all donations go directly to the Orlando Grief Care Project as they continue their work in their own community as well as support other cities like Charlottesville, Las Vegas and Puerto Rico. We encourage all interested to join us regardless of ability to pay. Come gather, be inspired, and take home practical resources.
If you attended our Fall 2016 presentation, we will be building upon the resources offered in that discussion and sharing new stories of how your herbal support helped fuel our work in Standing Rock and around the country since last year's visit.
Join herbalist Emily Ruff, founder of the Orlando Grief Care Project. Emily is the director of the Florida School of Holistic Living in Orlando, Florida and the annual Florida Herbal Conference. For more information:
