Winter in the Northeast is tough on just about every part of our being - from our physical immunity, muscles and joints, to our emotional well-being and mental fortitude, everything feels like it's being put to the test.  As we rapidly approach the winter season, we have to ask ourselves - is there another way?

Fortunately, with the help of Ayurveda the answer is unequivocally YES! Through the lens of this ancient science of self-directed health, we'll explore the nature of the Vata dosha: what it is, what it has to do with winter, how it effects our overall health in the colder, drier months, and how we can use this knowledge to lay a foundation for many balanced, cozy - if not enjoyable! - winters to come.  The workshop will consist of an hour lecture on dietary and lifestyle practices that aim at bringing warmth and nourishment to the body, a 30-minute restorative yoga class, and some tasty Vata-balancing treats!  A must for all Vermonters.

Marisa Hall is a NAMA-certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor, Yoga Alliance-certified instructor of yoga, and crafter of handmade one-of-a-kind Ayurvedic massage oils.  Her experiences at home and on the road have helped her to explore the many ways that the Vedic sciences can radically change our lives, whether we're in need of creating a supportive routine for the daily grind or looking for some savvy ways of staying balanced while traveling and transitioning.  Having spent most of her life in various regions of NYC and the Adirondacks, she's thrilled to have finally made the shift to Vermont, and is looking forward to sharing her "lived Ayurvedic experience," the good, bad, and everything in between, so that others can be exposed to and benefit from this beautiful living science.
